Meet Our Board

Carol Coulson

Carol is a producer, director choreographer who has worked on many major events such as The Grey Cup and the Opening of  Expo 86.  She graduated from Lublin University, Poland, in Polish Folklore Choreography.  Carol is the multicultural Chairman for the Canadian Dance Teachers Association in BC.

Anabel Ho

Anabel Ho is the artistic director of the Vancouver Academy of Dance and the Strathcona Chinese Dance Company.  She has been a professional dance educator and choreographer for over 20 years.  Her choreography has won many awards throughout North America.  She is honored to be continuing the work of Mimie Ho.

 

Lisa Ho

Lisa Ho is a professional performer and dance educator.  She performed as a principal dancer for the Strathcona Chinese Dance Company under the direction of Mimie Ho for many years.  She continued into a successful career on Broadway in New York.

 

Valerie Ho

Valerie Ho currently lives and works in New York City as a successful professional dancer, choreographer and dance educator. She started her dance career with the Strathcona Chinese Dance Company, is currently on faculty at Broadway Dance Center and Peridance Capezio Dance faculty in NYC, and regularly works on theatre, TV and films projects.

 

Melina Lam

Melina is alumni of the Strathcona Chinese Dance Company.  She continued her performance endeavors and works as an actress and model while caring for her two children.

 

Yang Ling

Yang Ling is a professional musician and teacher specializing in traditional Chinese instruments like the pipa and guzheng.  She has won many awards for her work and has performed worldwide.  Yang Ling runs the Yang Ling Music Centre in Richmond.

 

John Pao

John heads his own architecture firm and frequently works on projects throughout North America and Asia.  He has been a strong advocate for the Chinese Dance Arts for many years.

 

Baldwin Wong

Baldwin is a social planner at the City of Vancouver, and a long-time admirer of Mimie for her passion and commitment in promoting Chinese dance and culture, especially to the younger generation.  He’s honoured to be serving on the Foundation to continue support Mimie’s legacy.
